Noun

The noun is a word which is used for the name of living or non-living objects. It is usually used to recognize a class of human, animal, plants or non-living things.

There are two types of noun

Common noun

The common noun is applied to depict the name of general things in routine life.  For example

  • This girl is very beautiful.
  • This man is very clever.
  • These are ripe fruits.

Here the words girl, man and pencil are examples of the common noun.

Proper noun

A proper noun is applied to depict the name of specific or particular things. For example

  • Alisha is very beautiful.
  • Mr. Joseph is very clever.
  • These are ripe bananas.

Here the words Alisha, Mr. Joseph and bananas are the examples of the proper noun.

So basically these are all the examples of noun as the noun indicates the name of person, place or things.

Pronoun

Pronouns are used in the place of nouns; basically, these are the substitute of the noun used in a sentence.

pronoun

It also includes two types’ subjective pronouns and objective pronoun. For example

  • This coffee is too hot so it can’t be drunk yet.

In this example, the noun coffee is replaced by the subjective pronoun “it”.

  • Mr. Joseph was very careless so he was fired from this job.

Here noun Mr. Joseph is replaced by the subjective pronoun “he”.
