Every disability leads to some causes and reasons which play an important role in making a person ill and psychologically sick. These reasons enhance the capability of disorder to cause the sickness in one’s mind and thoughts. The obsessive-compulsive disorder also has some causes. These causes are following that play strong role to support and create the disorders in people.
Genes are the key to regulate and pass heredity in next generation and most of the diseases are genetic that passes from generation to generation and cause serious illness and sickness.
These genes regulate the serotonin and pass genetic information and many characteristics into the next generation. So in case of obsessive-compulsive disorder genes play an important role. For example, if two identical twins are present and one twin has the chances of OCD then it definitely appears in the second twin which shows that genes are responsible in transfer of obsessions and compulsions.
Neurotransmitters are the chemical messengers that perform specific functions in the body refers to neuro transmission. They are involved in the transference of signals from the brain to the body, as a result of which our heart beats, our stomach digests, and our lungs breathe. They transfer the signals between neurons and balance the proper functioning of the body.
Therefore imbalance in neurotransmitters cause a severe problem and obsessive-compulsive disorder is one of the abnormalities that are caused due to imbalanced neuro-transmitters.

Every illness and disorder has some symptoms that show the severity of the respective disorder. These symptoms are involved to disturb the behavior and normal activities of a person. The obsessive-compulsive disorder also has some symptoms that strongly show the presence of this disorder. These symptoms are following.
The people that are suffering from the obsessive-compulsive disorder do the excessive checking of everything and this is the main symptom of OCD that strongly indicates this disorder. They check the lock of door and cars, switches of the house and other things repeatedly.
They look unsatisfied after checking. This disorder includes the repetitive behaviors that successfully snatch the relaxation from the life of people who suffer from the obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Excessive Care Of Loved One’s
The people with OCD do not satisfy everyone including themselves. They regularly check in to the person who is valuable and loved one of them. They also face the threats and discomfort about the security of their loved one’s. In general, they want to satisfy their own self that their loved one’s are safe and secure therefore they repeatedly check them.
Such repetitive behavior also irritates and disturbs the relationships of people with the obsessive-compulsive disorder.
The people who have obsessive-compulsive disorder do often the senseless things which usually have no meaning for a normal person.T hey often repeat certain words and do the counting. To overcome stress they are addicted to keep check on happenings over and over again. They do these things to reduce their anxiety and depression to make their mind busy. They also try to busy their mind but they could not succeed in it at all.
Thoughts Of Harming Self Or Others
The people with obsessive-compulsive disorder think of harming them selves as well as others. The unwanted thoughts and images which are created in their minds disturb their normal thinking and behavior. They face aggressive thoughts more often therefore they are used of keeping bird eye view on each detail.
Treatment Of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
The following treatments are used to overcome the symptoms of OCD and for its cure. These treatments are helpful in reducing the chances and severity of the obsessive-compulsive disorder in people.
Certain medicines are used to control the symptoms of OCD and to overcome the stress because stress creates anxiety and depression that favors the symptoms of OCD. Fluoxetine is used for adults and seven-year-old children.
Paroxetine is the medicine that is used for the adults only. Serotonin re-uptake inhibitors are also used to treat the obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive behavior therapy is used to modify the thoughts and thinking which directly affect the behavior of a person. It is used to change the behavior and also it is a very effective therapy that is used to improve the mental health of people with several disorders including obsessive-compulsive disorder. The mental and psychological health can be improved by this therapy.
Anti-Anxiety medicines are used to overcome the stress and anxiety because anxiety plays a major role to enhance the symptoms of OCD. It badly affects the normal working of daily life like go to school or office for a job. Reduction of anxiety is very necessary for the cure of OCD in people. Anxiety also creates bad and irritative thoughts with confused images in mind.
Therefore, many conflicts develop in the mind of people who face obsessive-compulsive disorder and it increases compulsion in them. So it is very necessary to reduce the anxiety for the cure of OCD.
