Let’s assume, I want to multiply Column A from A1 to A7 (assume cell range contains 4,1,2,3,4,1,2 sequentially) in cell D1. I will type in D1 ” =PRODUCT(A1: A7) ” and press Enter. ” 192 ” will be displayed in D1.
Right above the sheet, you can see Address Bar. In front of ” fx “, you can see the formula that is ” =PRODUCT(A1: A7) ” in this case.

Let’s assume, I want to multiply Row 3 from A3 to E3  (assume cell range contains 4,1,2,3,2 sequentially ) in cell F3. I will type in F3 ” =PRODUCT(A3: E3) ” and press Enter. ” 48 ” will be displayed in F3.
Right above the sheet, you can see Address Bar. In front of ” fx “, you can see the formula that is ” =PRODUCT(A3: E3) ” in this case.

Though, asterisks can also be used. It is time taking to use asterisks for multiplying a range of cells. For the same example as above. I will type in D1 ” =A1:A2:A3:A4:A5:A6: A7 ” for column press Enter. ” 198 ” will be displayed in D1.

The same steps can be used for multiplying rows.

### How to Multiply Various Columns in Excel

There are 2 ways to multiply various columns. Choose any of them.

1. Click on the cell.
2. Use the product formula.
• As already mentioned above under the heading Multiplying Range of Cells.
3. An array formula can be used that is “=A1:A3*B1:B3*C1: C3”. Then drag down a small square in the lower right corner.

• It will multiply A1*B1*C1 and a product will be shown in the selected cell. Then in the next column, it will multiply A2*B2*C2. Similarly for the A3*B3*C3.

1. Fix a constant you want to multiply with Column in any cell.
2. Click on the cell you want your product to be displayed on.
3. Type ” = “.
4. Type cell number with giving space.
5. Type the cell number containing a constant number.

7. To copy a formula down the column you can double click on the small green square in a right lower corner of formula cell. Drag down the square as far as you want.

Let’s assume, I want to multiply 0.12  from A3 to C3  (assume cell range contains 0,1,2 sequentially) in cell A4. I will fix the number 0.12 in any cell (say in H2). I will type in A4 ” =A3*\$H\$2 “. Press Enter. ” 0 ” will be displayed in A4.

I will drag the green button on cell A4 towards the right to copy it for cell B3 and C3. By doing so it will display a product of B3*\$H\$2 and C3*\$H\$2 in B4, C4 respectively. These steps can be followed for Column headings too. Then drag vertically to copy the formula.

### Merge And Center In Excel

One simple way is to use the Merge and Center option from the Home tab. Being easy and simple it has a very serious issue. If you want to merge two cells from two columns the data will be lost. You will only be left with the data from the leftmost column. The data from the right column will be lost.

Before it happens excel will give you a warning. It will warn you about the loss of data from the right cells. If you select the merge and center option a warning will pop-up on the screen. It will state that merging the cells only keeps left cell data and discard the other values.

If you proceed with this the cells will merge and you will lose the data or values from the right cells. Your cells will be merged and you will have one bigger cell instead of two small. This will let you write more values in one cell without any problem of display.

### Center Across Selection

Other than Merge and Center, you can also utilize Center Across Selection. All you have to do is that select the cells that you wish to merge. Then you will need to press Ctrl + 1. This will pop-up a format cells box. You will choose the Alignment tab. In the horizontal drop-down choose Center Across Selection.

Click OK. It will merge the cells that if you enter anything in the leftmost cell it will get centered. But you will still be able to select each cell separately. This will not give any error on your spreadsheet. Also, the data will be sorted in their respective cells without being lost. But make sure data is only in the left cell.

### Applying Formula On Cells

You can also use a formula to merge any two cells in Excel. The formula is also simple and easy to remember. You will need to use the CONCATENATE formula. For example, let’s say you are to merge cell A1 and B1. You will enter the formula in cell C1: =CONCATENATE(A1,” “, B1).

This will combine the cells A1 and B1 along with a separator. If you don’t want the separator you will use the formula =CONCATENATE(A1, B1). This will merge the cells without any separator in the next cell C1. You can copy the result in the cell in which you wanted to merge.

1. Open a PDF document in Adobe Reader. Do so by opening the red Adobe Reader app with the stylized, white A icon. Then click on File in the menu bar at the top of the screen, click on Open…, select the PDF document you want to type on and click on Open.

3. Click on Fill & Sign. It’s a pencil icon in the upper-left part of the window.
