These are connected to the lower frame of the body and are meant to perform the function of supporting the entire body by holding its weight. To run, walk and jump are also included in its functions.

The lower limbs are formed by the following parts:

  • Pelvic girdle
  • Thigh
  • Leg
  • Foot

The lower limb is attached to the body frame through the backbone. The bone of thigh is the largest bone in the human body, also known as the femur. Further, we find in the leg, tibia and fibula and the tarsus and metatarsus bones of the foot and the phalanges of the toes.
